Valentines Cupcake Topper – Elegant Heart

Elegant Heart Topper

Elegant Heart Topper by Katy Sue

Wow I love this Katy Sue Elegant Heart Topper.

As promised I spent the weekend experimenting with some products while testing my wonderful new Red Velvet Cupcakes. We have a recipe up that makes 12 and the cream cheese frosting to match.

We tried a few different designs using products that we stock to give you guys plenty of Valentines ideas for that special someone or for your customers.

This blog is about using the Katy Sue ~ Elegant Hearts Mould. I rate this mould very high. The whole range is very impressive we dozens of moulds available in high quality silicone for an extremely reasonable price, very competitive in line with some of the well established top leading brands. It’s so simple.

What you will need.

How to make it.

Step 1 Colour your paste accordingly to achieve the colour you would like, for ours we used red extra to colour the paste. This is by Sugarflair and be aware you only need a very tiny amount to colour.

Step 2 Dust your mould with a light sprinkle of Cornflour, tap the mould on its side to get out any excess.

Step 3 Knead paste well until pliable, roll in to a small ball and push in to your mould, making sure any excess is removed.

Step 4 Bend the mould to release the modelling paste, do this simply by putting pressure on the centre of the reverse of the mould. Your heart should drop out easily. This same technique can be applied to most pliable silicone moulds!

Step 5 Leave to for a few hours before dusting or painting them. For my elegant hearts I painted them using Sugarflair edible paint, it have then a deep, rich finish! Perfect for Valentines!

Easy peasy! Check out our other blogs for loads more tips and techniques.
